Colby Benson, a senior at Mililani High School, is a talented vocalist, songwriter and performer. At the age of 15, she was chosen as one of only 325 people out of 100,000 who made it to American Idol’s Hollywood Week season 10.
She has won numerous awards and contests, including winning 1st place vocalist for the Hawaii Stars and Catch a Rising Star competitions. Not only is she a winning vocalist, but she has also won awards for songwriting contests to include ranking 1st place in the Humane Society’s songwriting Contest, 2nd in the Grammy Teens Make Music contest, and 3rd place in Ford’s National “Belt it Out” songwriting contest.
Her stage performance credits include: “Amneris” in Aida, “Asaka” in Once On This Island, “Sharpay in High School Musical and “Annie” in Annie.
Colby is also the founder and lead vocalist for the all-girl band, “Crimson Apple”.
Colby studies voice, piano, guitar, and is currently under the direction of International Recording Artist, Kristian Lei.
